We stayed on the outskirts of town but the public transport is so good we were in the centre of Berlin within 20 minutes of leaving our apartment.
We managed to fit in a lot of the popular tourist sights; Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate and the Jewish Memorial. We also got to sample a lot of the delicious food that Berlin had to offer.
We were lucky to be there when the football was on, so got to go to the Fanzone as well - I only went during the day but my husband went one evening and said the atmosphere was amazing.
We really loved the city, we will definitely be back to do it all again one day.
