A year ago...

...we were arranging a house move to Kent. We had lived in Lambeth for 5 years and we were needing a new home that was quieter and of course needed more room as our babies turned into toddlers. 

We moved into our lovely new house in the December and fell in love with both the house and the area. 

So it was quite the surprise when, in January, my husband said that a job opportunity had come up in Germany. 

I was hesitant at first, we were happy in our new home and I was making lots of lovely mummy friends. Also, the thought of moving further away from family and friends was a daunting one. 

As the months progressed we talked about it constantly. Weighing up the pros and cons. In the end though we decided to go for it, deciding that it was an adventure we could have as a family and at a time where it wouldn't impact on the boys education. 

So fast forward to November 2013 and we are living in Germany, a year ago I would never have guessed that would be the case. Our adventure has begun and I don't regret it for a second. I miss the people I love, of course, but we know that ultimately we will be returning to the UK in the long term.
